The Detective Trail on the Pizol

Solve a tricky case in the middle of nature. Take the Pizol lift from the Wangs valley station to reach the start of the Detective Trail. Together with your children, solve the exciting case involving a mountain troll who has been causing mischief on the Pizol. Total hiking time is approximately 60 minutes. You can also choose to linger and play in the beautiful Water Forest. Duration: 2 hours, distance: 2.4 km, ascent: 96 metres elevation gain, descent: 97 metres elevation loss

Heidi Adventure Trail

On the Heidi Adventure Trail, you and your family can experience the story of Heidi in a unique, nature-focused environment. The absolute highlight of the tour: On the Heidialp, you can visit the original hut, which is still occupied today by shepherds. They will be happy to offer you regional delicacies, topping off an unforgettable experience. Duration: 3 hours, distance: 8.8 km, ascent: 453 metres elevation gain, descent: 452 metres elevation loss

Swimming fun at the Tamina Therme

Plunge in and enjoy: Swimming fun for the whole family spread out over 7,300 m2. From the Jacuzzi bath to the water rapids – indulge yourself in the warm thermal water.

Lama & Alpaca Trekking

Do not miss out – llama and alpaca treks in Liechtenstein are an excellent way to relax. After all, anyone who has spent time with these curious creatures knows that it is impossible not to be catapulted into the here and now. On the trek, participants learn to be mindful and attentive not only of the llamas and alpacas but also of themselves. Combined with a fondue dinner in the forest, the hike is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Feldkirch Wildlife Park

For over 50 years, the Feldkirch Wildlife Park has been home to a variety of animals. It all began with Felix the ibex, who was the first inhabitant to move into the park. Today, the Feldkirch Wildlife Park boasts over 140 animals belonging to 21 different species. The Wildlife Park is 45 minutes away by car. We will also be happy to arrange transportation for you. Alpine skiing

Our local mountain, the Pizol, offers 43 kilometers of snow fun on the slopes and is only a few minutes away from the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz. The Flumserberg winter paradise is the largest winter sports destination between Zurich and Bad Ragaz, with 65 kilometers of pistes. Other top skiing resorts are also available within a 45-minute drive, such as the Flims Laax Falera skiing destination, the Arosa Lenzerheide snow sports area and the winter sports resort of Davos.

Cross-country skiing

The idyllic area around Bad Ragaz radiates peace and harmony – perfect for really taking in nature while cross-country skiing. The Heidiland holiday region offers various cross-country skiing trails for beginners, advanced and professional skiers, suitable for both the skating and classic technique.

Snowshoe hiking

Individually guided snowshoe tours take you to the most beautiful winter wonderland spots of the Heidiland holiday region. Bring variety to your winter program and enjoy a few hours of unadulterated nature on a half-day guided snowshoe tour. In a snow-covered landscape, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you can really experience winter.

Ice skating

Ice skating is probably the oldest of winter sports – and also the most common. In the area around Bad Ragaz there is something for every kind of ice skater, from relaxed skating to intensive ice hockey. The Sarganserland ice rink is 15 minutes away by car, and the Quader ice rink in Chur is 20 minutes away.

Five-lakes hike

Five crystal-clear mountain lakes and unique views of the Sardona UNESCO World Heritage Site are what characterize this route. With a bit of luck, you can spot ibexes, chamois and eagles at Lake Schwarzsee. And it comes with a wonderful view practically every step of the way. Pizol panoramic mountain trail

The high plateau is formed like a natural grandstand and provides a breathtaking view of the Sardona tectonic arena and the Rhine Valley. At various points along this circular hiking route, information boards and interactive elements teach you more about the surrounding landscape and how the Alps were created, and about the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Duration: 1.5 hours, distance: 3 km, ascent: 53 metres elevation gain, descent: 53 metres elevation loss

The “Wine and e-bike” culinary tour

Take a guided e-bike tour and pedal your way comfortably through the Buendner Herrschaft past beautiful vineyards. At a stop at a vineyard, you will learn more about the centuries-old winemaking culture and have a chance to rate the winemaker’s abilities at a tasting.

E-bike tour to the Chapfensee reservoir

The idyllic Chapfensee reservoir can be reached by heading from Bad Ragaz towards Viltersberg. The challenging tour takes you past the ruins of Freudenberg Castle and offers a unique view of the Rhine Valley. The dammed mountain lake and the surroundings, which have been designated a nature conservation area, will show you nature in all her glory. A swift descent takes you past Sargans Castle. Duration: 3.1 hours, distance: 39.9 km, ascent: 1,100 metres elevation gain, descent: 1,100 metres elevation loss

River rafting on the Anterior Rhine

The spectacular Ruinaulta, or Rhine gorge, meanders from Ilanz to Reichenau near Bonaduz. Over thousands of years the river has created a landscape of incomparable beauty here: white limestone cliffs and green wetlands line the river with its sparkling rapids. The Anterior Rhine offers easy to medium whitewater, suitable for (almost) everyone from 10 years of age – especially for families and groups.

ART AND CULTURE

Be it a guided tour through the Old Town of Chur, Switzerland’s oldest city, or a visit to the art city of Bregenz: the excursion destinations can be easily reached within only a few minutes by car from Bad Ragaz, and are the perfect spots to delight culture, art and shopping enthusiasts.

The Alpine town of Chur

Switzerland’s oldest city abounds with history. Discover the charm of the capital of Graubünden on a guided tour of the city, or rent an audio guide to learn interesting facts about the history and culture of this Alpine town. Stroll through the picturesque lanes of the Old Town, or explore the small boutiques and speciality shops. Our concierge will be happy to provide you with a city map and arrange for transportation from Bad Ragaz to Chur and back.

The mystical Tamina gorge

Around 1240, hunters from the Pfäfers monastery discovered a 36.5°C spring in the Tamina gorge. And so began the long history of Bad Pfäfers and later Bad Ragaz. Visit the museum in Altes Bad Pfäfers and learn all about the centuries-old bathing tradition. A path leads you into the interior of the rock and to the source of the healing thermal spring. You can explore the Tamina gorge on your own or on a guided tour. It takes about an hour to get from the resort to the Tamina gorge on foot, but there is also a regular public bus service. Bregenz

A variety of museums, concert events and theatrical performances: Beautifully situated on Lake Constance, the city of Bregenz beckons visitors to linger. Our cultural director Sina Samieian, a native of Bregenz, is ready with tips for events or museums and will gladly provide you with recommendations for the latest highlights. Guided tour of the Hagerbach Test Gallery

The Hagerbach Test Gallery offers a variety of attractions, such as live explosion demonstrations, rides on the mine train, the adventure cinema in an SBB rail carriage, a building material testing laboratory and fire-extinguishing courses. This is definitely not a run-of-the-mill experience, and it takes place completely underground. @Hagerbach

Mine Gonzen

The 90 kilometre long Gonzen iron mine, abandoned in 1966, has for many years offered visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the exciting world of the tunnel labyrinth. On the tour through galleries and tunnels, past deep silos and hidden corners, the ever-changing colours of the imposing ore deposit fascinate.
